Monday April 27th at 6 p.m.
This month is
Choose Your Own Title Month! Once a year the book discussion group has a free-for-all and everyone selects a different title to discuss. This is a great way to hear about new books or older classics that you might not have read. The group will also have a potluck supper with dessert and iced tea so sign-up at the circulation desk now and join in the fun!
Would you like to learn how to attract beautiful butterflies to your garden ?

Attend our free workshop presented by Pat Kriener, Johnson County Master Gardener.  The workshop will start at 7:00 p.m. and should last about an hour.

NEA's Read Across America 2009  I Am A Reader!

Children who read Easy Reader or Picture Book level books can participate in this fun program.
If they checkout and read four of the following six Dr. Seuss titles from our library  they will receive a cute Dr. Seuss character sticker!

Titles:
The Cat in the Hat
Happy Birthday to You!
Horton Hears a Who!
The Lorax
Oh, the Places You'll Go!
Yertle the Turtle and other stories

Participating children will receive a special book tracker/book mark. After four titles have been logged in the book tracker/ book mark the kids can bring them to the circulation desk and select a sticker.

The featured character stickers are of the Cat in the Hat, the Lorax and Horton the elephant.
