Computer Use and Library Cards

Welcome to the Alvarado Public Library - the Best Deal in Town!

Your library card will enable you to borrow materials from the collection owned by the Alvarado Public Library, including books, magazines, CD's,  videos in DVD and VHS format, books on tape and CD, and music CDs for your information and pleasure. After three months, if your account is good standing, you will be given an online password, which can be used to check the status of items on loan, place holds, or borrow e-books and you be allowed to borrow items from the other libraries in our consortium.

After signing a library/computer use agreement you may use one of the public access computers. Computers, including Wi-fi access, must be "checked-out" at the circulation desk. In order to use one of the computers, or our Wi-fi access, you will be asked to show your Alvarado Public Library Card, Alvarado Public Library Computer Use Card, or Alvarado Public Library Wi-Fi Use Only Card.

When you get a computer use card or a library card, you are agreeing to:

  • Care for all of the materials you borrow.
  • Pay outstanding fines or fees.
  • Pay for all lost or damaged materials.
  • Tell us if your card is lost or stolen.
  • Tell us if your name, address, or phone numbers change.
  • Confirm your address and phone numbers annually.
  • Use only your own card to borrow materials or access a computer or our wireless Internet service.
