The Alvarado Public Library is
sponsoring their first amateur photography contest. The contest will run
from February 1st through March 26th.
There will be two age divisions: Youth (age 17 and under) and Adult (age
18 and up.) There will be four categories: architecture, digitally
altered, nature, and people.
There
will be one Grand Prize winner and an Honorable Mention winner selected in
each of the two age groups.
The Grand Prize will be

Ansel Adams: 400 Photographs by Ansel Adams.
The prize for Honorable Mention will be

American Ruins by Arthur Drooker.
Special Prize for the Adult 2nd Runner Up:
Two tickets to the Wynonna Judd Concert at Bass Hall - courtesy of Suzanne Conlin.
Photography contest rules & regulations:

Entries must include a completed
entry form and a 5 X
7 photograph. |

Categories may be written on the
back of the photograph but not your name or contact information.
Entries will be “blind” judged. |

All photographs must be your
original work and must be submitted to the library by Wednesday, March
26th. for the purposes of this contest, an amateur is
considered to be anyone who derives less than 50% of his/her income
from photography. |

Entries will not be returned by
mail. |
 |
Winning entries may be picked up
after the display period has ended on May 1st. Other entries may be
picked up one week after the contest ends. |
 |
As
long as the photograph submitted is no larger that 5 X 7 any type of
camera may be used. |
Winners
will be announced at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2008.
Winning photographs will be published in the local
newspapers and will be framed and kept on display at the library until
April 30th.

entry form along with
your 5 x 7 photograph to:
