Fiddlers Contest 
Friday,  August 17th:8:00 p.m.
Rules and Awards

   A "fiddler" as pertains to this contest, is any person with a minimum of three years experience playing a fiddle and who is capable of tuning a fiddle without the assistance of another. 
   

   Contest judges "may not" be associated with a contestant through employment, family relations or be playing in a band with a contestant.
   

   Contestants will report to the stage, when their names arecalled, with their fiddles tuned and ready to play.  There will be a playoff between the first place winners to select a Reunion Champion Fiddler for the year. The champion will receive $100.00 in prize money.
   

   No more than three accompanists and no amplified instruments will be used during contest play.   

   The contest will begin at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 13, 2004.

    There will be five age groups:

  1. ages 0 -15

  2. ages 16 - 25

  3. ages 26 - 43

  4. ages 46 - 65

  5. ages 66 and up

   Each contestant will play two times, either a breakdown or a waltz.

   Prizes will be awarded to three places in each age group:
first place - $100.00; second place $75.00; and third place - $50.00.

   Following the Fiddle Contest the accompanists may play for a first and second place prize of $75.00 and $50.00.
