Fiddlers Contest 
Friday,  September 9th at  7:00 p.m.
Rules and Awards

This year's event will be a Texas Old Time Fiddlers contest, and run according to their rules. All contestants must also be a member of the Texas Old Time Fiddlers Assoc. Their website, for information, is http://www.totfa.org/

     Contestants will report to the stage, when their name is called, with fiddle tuned and ready to play.
    There will be a playoff between the first place winners in each age group to select a Reunion Champion Fiddler for the year. The champion will receive $100.00 in prize money.
    No more than four accompanists (all string instruments) and no amplified instruments will be used during contest play.
    The contest will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday,  September 9th 2016 starting with Group 5.
    There will be five age groups:
Group 1) Ages   0-15
Group 2) Ages 16-25
Group 3) Ages
Group 4) Ages 46-65
Group 5) Ages 66 and up

Each contestant will play two tunes, either a breakdown or a waltz.

     Prizes will be awarded to three places in each age group: first place - $100.00; second place $75.00; and third place - $50.00, plus Trophies.

   Prior to the Fiddle Contest the accompanists may play for a first and second place prize of $75.00 and $50.00.
